This summer, I created two murals for Selina's new Birmingham location.
Selina create beautifully designed hostels with a difference. They design spaces full of art, colour and creativity, offering unique places to stay and connect with others.
I was thrilled to be asked to be part of bringing some art and nature into the rooms they are creating for their new Birmingham, Jewellery Quarter location.

Although I work primarily with black and white, I added a splash of colour to the designs to create pieces that worked in harmony with the interior design plans. A blush pink was used to frame the black and white line illustrations, which used florals and fauna to bring a slice of nature indoors.
Each mural took about 2.5 days to create. I captured some quick shots on my phone throughout the mural creation (whenever I remembered to take a little 5 minute breather) and you can see the murals progress.

The designs
Each mural features a hand held bouquet with one bouquet attracting butterflies and the other birds. The idea is that the hands are offering you the gift of nature, inviting you to take a moment to connect with its beauty.
